West Brom Coach Alan Irvine has declared
that he is very positive that more goals
will come off the boots of Brown Ideye
after the Super Eagles striker opened his
account in Wednesday’s Capital One Cup
clash against Hull City
Ideye opened scoring in the 15th minute of
the dramatic five-goal thriller in which the
Baggies ended 3-2 winners.
The Nigerian striker understandably was
swamped by his delighted team-mates
but was unable to continue due to an
ankle problem.
Speaking on the situation Irvine told
WBA’s official website he was happy to
see his record signing in the summer
transfer window finally hit the ground
running.
”We were all absolutely delighted for the
lad scoring his first goal. Irvine began
He continued: “We think he is capable of
goals.
“You could see how much it meant to
everyone by the celebrations.
“It is just a shame he rocked his ankle in
the process (of scoring).
“That was a real pity because he had
made a very bright start to the game.
“We are still waiting to assess the damage
but we do not think it is too serious at
this stage.” He concluded.
Already there are insinuations that Ideye is
been considered for a recall to the national
team for the crucial double-header against
Sudan, it is yet to be seen how the latest
injury setback will influence recalling Ideye
back to the Eagles after snubbing the
former Dynamo Kiev forward
